Adjust driving conditions to see real-time impact

More than just an estimate

Most range estimators only look at average consumption. We use detailed physics models to calculate range based on the forces acting on your vehicle.

Speed Impact

Aerodynamic drag increases exponentially with speed. See exactly how much driving 80mph vs 65mph costs you in range.

Weather Conditions

Batteries lose efficiency in the cold, and HVAC systems draw significant power. We factor in both temperature and humidity.

Terrain Analysis

Driving through mountains? Elevation changes require more energy. Our terrain factors adjust for hills and mountains.

Understanding EV Range Factors

Why does winter kill range?

Cold weather affects EVs in two ways. First, lithium-ion battery chemistry becomes less efficient, unable to discharge energy as quickly. Second, and more significantly, heating the cabin requires a large amount of energy (up to several kilowatts), which is drawn directly from the main battery pack.

The 65mph vs 75mph myth

Air resistance is not linear. Driving 15% faster (75mph vs 65mph) requires nearly 35% more energy to overcome drag. This is why highway range is often significantly lower than city range for EVs, contrary to gas cars.
