About Auto-Chase

Our Mission

Auto-Chase exists to solve a simple but frustrating problem: EV range anxiety caused by inaccurate estimates.

Official WLTP and EPA ratings are useful baselines, but they rarely reflect real-world conditions. Driving at highway speeds in freezing temperatures can reduce range by over 30%. Our goal is to give current and future EV owners the data they need to plan trips with confidence.

How It Works

Unlike simple percentage calculators, Auto-Chase uses a physics-based model to estimate energy consumption. We factor in:

  • Aerodynamic Drag: Calculated based on speed squared, which heavily impacts highway range.
  • Temperature Effects: Modeling battery chemistry efficiency losses in cold weather.
  • HVAC Load: Estimating the power draw from heating or cooling the cabin.
  • Terrain: Adjusting rolling resistance for hills and mountains.

Transparency & Data

We believe in open data. Our vehicle database is constantly updated to reflect the latest models from Tesla, Hyundai, VW, and more. While we strive for accuracy, all range figures are estimates. Real-world results can vary based on tire pressure, wind, and driving style.

Auto-Chase is an independent project and is not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer.
